release will be made available to all customers over the next few weeks. If you would like
to get early access to new features, please contact Sophos Support.
When this update is installed, the Email Appliance will reboot.
May 11th, 2010
This release extends support for Secure PDF Exchange (SPX). For more information on these
features, see the 3.6.0.x Notable Changes.
You should also familiarize yourself with the known issues, since improper
configuration of certain options may cause unexpected behavior.
Before you begin installing and configuring the Email Appliance, you should review the configuration directions.
Internet Explorer (versions 6, 7 and 8) and Mozilla Firefox (version 3.x) are the only
supported browsers for this product release. However, the Email Appliance has been optimized for
current-generation browsers, such as Internet Explorer 8 and Firefox 3. If you are using an
older browser such as Internet Explorer 6 and experience performance issues, consider
upgrading to a newer version of Internet Explorer, or to a recent version of Firefox.

can change, reset, and recover passwords. They can also set challenge questions that must
be answered to complete a password reset or recovery.

- Users who have forgotten their password can reset their own password.
- Users can replace their own existing passwords with new passwords.
- Users can retrieve forgotten SPX passwords, by entering answers to challenge questions.
- Branding of messages (similar to existing portal branding)
- A new option can be set that requires users to login to the SPX portal to send a secure message.
- To enhance security, options are now available that require users to use passwords with a
minimum length. They can also be required to use special characters in their password.
