We are pleased to introduce support for multiple directory servers.
New Directory Services Wizard: On the System: Directory
Services page (Configuration > System > Directory Services > Add) you can find the new Directory Services Wizard, which
allows you to add multiple directory servers to integrate the Email Appliance with different organizations. Directory server integration
allows you to retrieve the following information:
Valid recipients
Aliases
User groups
Authentication for End User Web Quarantine and SMTP auth
Sample profiles for common directory servers:
Failover directory servers:
Support for new username formats: In addition to existing DN-style usernames, you
can now enter usernames in the EXAMPLE\username format (commonly
used for Active Directory implementations) or in the user.name
format (commonly used in Novell eDirectory implementations).
Improved query configuration and troubleshooting: We have made configuring and
troubleshooting LDAP queries faster and easier: you can customize, verify,
and run queries on the fly; then, you can
view query details or save query results
to a text file.
User Groups: User groups can now be selected from each directory server (Configuration > User Groups > Select groups from directory services > Add)
SMTP authentication support for directory servers: SMTP auth (Configuration > SMTP Authentication > Enable SMTP Authentication) now works for any one of your directory servers.
These new features further extend the capabilities of the Email Appliance.
